The conversations that I have during my day.

These are snip bits of the conversations that happened in my room today.
Me:  We are going to do a really cool project, that I think your parents are really going to enjoy. We are going to write a letter to our parents giving them gifts from our hearts. (Hand in the air)  I want you to do you best thinking, and I want this to come from the heart.  This is not a time for sillyness, I want us to think about all the things that our parents do for us.

Student A:  What are we going to do?

In my mind:  DO they hear any of the words that come out of my mouth?
After school, we were playing the game Yahtzee.
Me: Student B, Will you please pick up the Yahtzee game?

Student B:  I don't know how to pick up the game.

Me:  Let's hope you can use your 5th grade problem solving skills to figure out how to put the stuff in the box.(Its a cup and 5 di!)

I teach 5th grade.  They are the oldest students in the school.  New scene...Students are saving the above mention letters to their personal drive, where we have saved EVERYTHING since the beginning of the year, so I can edit them and print them.

Me: Student C you need to save it to the place where it says your name.

Student C:  I did, I saved it to My Documents.

Me:  No hon, you have to click the drop down arrow and save it the way I have taught  you to save everything since the beginning of the year. It's December!
Are they going to be ready for Middle School?  We are checking out for Christmas Break Folks.
