Well here we go. I am currently obsessed with blogs. I read them every chance I get and I am trying to get all my friends to blog. So...I guess why not me. The inspiration for this post is coming from an absolutely amazing weekend with friends and family!
We had a 3 day weekend. (I am a teacher, more about that later.) I spent Friday getting ready for the next week, and enjoying the company of some wonderful people! Saturday morning I attended a WW meeting where I lost 1 lb. Better than nothing I guess. Then I drove to Sioux Falls, to meet up with WONDERFUL people including: My Mom and Dad, My brother and his Girlfriend, my grandparents, and Hannah's(girlfriend) parents. All WONDERFUL amazing people.
I got to go shopping for some needed things, and also for some New Clothes for my father. Now, if you know my father, the only time he gets new clothes is when my mom or I buy them for him. My mom really likes to buy dads clothes at Sam's club. Lets just say they are not always the most fashionable. He also has a wonderful but strange obsession with collars. But, I got Dad to go shopping at Eddie Bauer! One of my favorite stores not only for the style, but for the quality! So needless to say, my dad is now the most fashionable 54 year old in Yankton, SD.
The rest of the day was filled with fun with family and friends! And tons of my favorite things. Which is where the inspiration for this post came from... a list of my favorite things, in no particular order.
1. Fall: It is just absolutely gorgeous! I love to hear leaves crunch under my feet, and see the most beautiful colors!
2. My family: yes, we are crazy and we have our quirks, but I love them SOOO very much.
3. Good Sheets. at least 350 thread count. There is nothing better than smooth sheets at night.
4. Memory foam. It's like sleeping on a cloud.
5. Reading...right now I am really into listening to books on cd in the car when I drive. It almost makes me want to have a longer drive. I really want my students to have this love for reading. I honestly use some of the strategies that I teach when I am reading. How nerdy is that.
6. Fall Smells. This weekend was full of wonderful fall candles (Bath and body has got it right this season!) and scentsy and car air fresheners that all have a great crisp autumn smell. Nothing can beat that.
Well those are just 6 of my favorite things. I have many many many more, but that will have to do for now.
