What am I here for?

This is a question I ask myself often.  What am I here for?  Now, I ask this question regularly, but I often have different answers to this question.

Answer 1: Well, I am here because my passion is teaching, and this is where I got THE job! My dream job actually, 5th grade in an ESD conference school.

Answer 2: To grow as a woman.  I still have a hard time calling myself a woman.  I am almost 24 years old, I guess I can be considered a woman. At the same time, I am living in a town 242 miles from my parents, but I still call their house my home. And, I definitely still consider myself their little girl, I am the baby of the family. The place I live in here is called, the apartment, not home.  But, I am here to become an independent woman.

Answer 3: I am here to serve the most amazing God, Jesus!  Have you stopped lately to stand amazed by all He is and all He can do?  I am here to be a light for Him.  I am here to show my students what it means to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.

Answer 4 didn't come the first time I asked this questions. God has amazing ways of revealing his plans for us.  I am here to impact the people around me, and to be impacted by them. Impact a good but vague word, to me impact means to bless, encourage, grow, and challenge.  He brings people in my life that are some of the most wonderful people in the world.

So, when I am down or questioning why and the world would God put me in the place 3 hours from everything, this is what I remember.  I remember that God's plans are not my own.  I trust that God has great things in store for me, plans that will keep me close (maybe not in proximity) to the people the bless me with their friendship, and help me to be the best daughter, sister, and woman of God I can be.
